Karl Lagerfeld Jeans has debuted a new collaboration with Atelier Reservé, the Amsterdam-based indie brand renowned for its fashion made from repurposed materials and carefully sourced deadstock fabrics. The result is a cunning collaboration that blends raw fabrics and gothic proportions, fusing Atelier Reservé’s unique aesthetic with Karl Lagerfeld Jeans’ urban edge.
“Karl was always open to new ideas—he embraced challenges, broke the rules, and collaborated with unexpected partners, which resulted in phenomenal creations,” said Hun Kim, creative director of Karl Lagerfeld. “This season, we’re excited to partner with Atelier Reservé, a young, innovative, and talented duo based in Amsterdam and focused on sustainability. Together, we’ve created a fantastic collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld Jeans.”
The Karl Lagerfeld Jeans X Atelier Reservé collection is available at the Karl Lagerfeld Jeans store in Madrid, online, and exclusively via Zalando. The capsule features 14 styles, blending vintage and modern elements for a distinctive result. The collection features bespoke utility jackets and pants, oversized T-shirts, and unique denim essentials, along with exclusive Lové KARL must-haves showcasing original artwork.
“This capsule collection takes a bold and nonconforming route, inspired by our interpretation of the iconic designer Karl Lagerfeld Jeans,” said Alljan Moehamad and Deyrinio Fraenk, co-founders of Atelier Reservé. “Collaborating with Karl Lagerfeld Jeans has been a pleasure, as their commitment to innovation and dedication aligns perfectly with our own values.”
Founded in 2016 in Amsterdam, Atelier Reservé has a history of notable collaborations. They teamed up with Levi’s in 2022 to reimagine classic denim through sustainable practices and collaborated with Miffy in 2023 for a playful, eco-friendly collection. During Amsterdam Fashion Week 2024, they partnered with Fresh ‘n Rebel, showcasing their creative reuse of upcycled materials.
Though founded by a Hamburg-born designer who lived in Paris for six decades, the house of Karl Lagerfeld is also based in Amsterdam, making this partnership feel even more natural. Some pieces in the collection feature original artwork of Karl Lagerfeld’s portrait, under the tagline ‘Lové Karl,’ symbolising the mutual admiration between the two brands.
