Amsterdam Fashion Week 2026 unveils its official event schedule, bringing five days of fashion, art, culture and creative exchange to the city from 1–5 September. Alongside the runway programme, AFW26 presents a diverse calendar of talks, presentations, exhibitions, workshops, installations and events, offering both industry professionals and the public new ways to engage with Amsterdam’s fashion scene. From emerging designers and established names to collaborations, immersive experiences and community-led activations, discover the events shaping this year’s edition below.

 

PROGRAM

Tuesday September 1

Arcatype opens A Space For Time, a public exhibition running from 1–20 September, daily from 10 am to 6 pm at Herengracht 206–216. Bringing together emerging and established creators, the exhibition explores craftsmanship, thoughtful design and the value of human connection in an increasingly digital world. Through carefully curated brands and immersive storytelling, A Space For Time invites visitors to reflect on how we choose to spend our time.

Lichting, in collaboration with HTNK and Amsterdam Fashion Week, celebrates its 20th anniversary with the retrospective photography exhibition 20 Years of Lichting – Captured by Peter Stigter. Open to the public from 1 September to 9 October at De Hallen (Hannie Dankbaarpassage), the exhibition presents two decades of Dutch fashion through the lens of photographer Peter Stigter, who has documented every Lichting show since its inception. The exhibition offers a rare insight into the designers and collections that have shaped the next generation of Dutch fashion.

Hospitality joins the Amsterdam Fashion Week programme for the first time this year, extending the fashion experience across the city. Throughout Fashion Week, Libertine serves a special Amsterdam Fashion Week menu, while MOMO Restaurant introduces an exclusive AFW cocktail, accompanied by a signature sushi roll. From 8:30 pm onwards, guests can also enjoy live DJ sets, making MOMO a lively destination to continue the evening after the day’s events.

At Cecconi’s Amsterdam, located beside the Singel canal inside Soho House Amsterdam, guests can enjoy Northern Italian cuisine alongside two special creations for Amsterdam Fashion Week, available from 1–5 September. The menu includes beef tartare on brioche with truffle and the Bias Cut, a 45-degree twist on the classic Italian aperitivo combining gin, Sarti Aperitivo, vermouth and homemade oregano soda.

Wednesday September 2

UMA Gallery opens from 2–4 September at Studio Sluijzer, transforming the shared space into a curated gallery where fashion, interiors and objects come together. As part of Amsterdam Fashion Week, UMA hosts a cocktail party on 3 September, from 4 pm to 7 pm, celebrating creativity, design and community within the gallery setting.

Wouters & Hendrix invites visitors into the world of Forbidden Fruit, the Antwerp jewellery house’s AW26 collection exploring mystery, desire and symbolism. The immersive experience takes place from 12 pm to 4.30 pm at the historic garden of Museum Van Loon (Koetshuis, Kerkstraat 259), where art, creativity and craftsmanship intertwine through an intimate performance. Registration in advance is recommended to secure your spot.

The journey continues at the Wouters & Hendrix boutique in Amsterdam’s Negen Straatjes (Oude Spiegelstraat 5) until 6 pm, where personal tarot readings offer a glimpse of what fate has in store. The collection remains on show in the boutique until 5 September, inviting visitors to further explore the brand’s universe.

Closet.eco presents a full-day showroom from 12 pm to 11 pm at COKO (Prinsengracht 526-H), bringing together emerging independent designers across fashion, jewellery, handbags, headwear and accessories. Visitors can discover and shop the collections, meet the designers behind the brands and learn more about their approaches to craftsmanship, made-to-order production, upcycling and small-batch design. As part of the programme, Closet.eco presents The Unseen Runway from 7 pm to 8 pm, an immersive runway experience where models move freely among visitors instead of walking a traditional catwalk. The showroom transforms into an evening gathering from 5 pm onwards, with drinks, music and a DJ continuing until 11 pm. Sign up to the experience here.

Dolly Sports hosts a walk-in event  from 1 pm to 4 pm on the first floor of ‘t Blauwe Theehuis (Vondelpark 5). Visitors are invited to discover the brand’s latest drop and step behind the scenes in its backstage space. Come by, explore, and meet the team.

Anna Johanna, in collaboration with abstract artist Merel Meijer, presents Tableau Vivant from 5 pm to 7 pm at Gallery Mai (Geldersekade 30). Blending fashion and contemporary art, the presentation transforms the gallery into a living composition where sculptural silhouettes and layered artworks come together. Crafted from carefully sourced deadstock fabrics, the work celebrates expressive design, craftsmanship and the dialogue between art and fashion.

Invite only LOAVIES launches its limited-edition collaboration with guest designer Amélie Snel from 7 pm to 10 pm at Duke of Tokyo (Reguliersdwarsstraat 37). The collection combines iconic silhouettes, unexpected details and statement pieces designed for those who don’t follow trends but create them.

Thursday September 3

The HUB returns on 3 and 4 September, welcoming visitors from 12 pm to 7 pm at RIVVIA (Keizersgracht 264, Amsterdam). This year’s edition celebrates 20 Years of Lichting with a retrospective exhibition developed in collaboration with the Gemeente Amsterdam and supported by SONHOUSE, reflecting on two decades of emerging designers, creativity and innovation that have shaped the platform.

Throughout both days, The HUB, in partnership with Wear for Life, becomes a meeting place for creativity, craftsmanship and circularity. Visitors can explore a curated vintage shop, take part in hands-on workshops, customise or repair their favourite garments, and donate unwanted clothing at the textile collection point to give it a second life.

Alongside the exhibition, The HUB hosts a programme of AFW Talks, bringing together leading voices from fashion and culture across both days. (Registration opens on amsterdamfashionweek.nl on August 21st.

At The HUB, L’Oréal Professionnel presents its Transformation Station, offering visitors a personalised hair consultation and touch-up centred around the Metal Detoxrange, followed by a photo moment and the opportunity to discover and sample the products.

Hungry Eye Fair opens its public programme from 2–6 September at Kromhouthal, presenting a boutique photography fair dedicated entirely to fine art photography. Bringing together vintage, contemporary and emerging talent, the fair explores photography through the lenses of past, present and future. An invite-only preview takes place on 2 September, with a preview from 3 pm to 6 pm, followed by the official opening from 7 pm to 11 pm.

Invite only Metal Magazine hosts an exclusive cocktail gathering from 6 pm to 8 pm at Pulitzer Amsterdam (Prinsengracht 323), bringing together guests for an evening of drinks, bites and conversation during Amsterdam Fashion Week.

Bevan Agyemang makes his Dutch debut with an invite only press pre opening from 5 PM to 7 PM and an exhibition and performance open to public from 7 pm to 10.30 pm at OSCAM (Bijlmerplein 97). The London-based, Ghana-born designer and artist explores the intersections of identity, culture and anthropology through work presented within OSCAM’s programme spotlighting new perspectives across art, fashion, design and craftsmanship.

The Social Hub presents Cultural Currents with TJ Sawyerr from 7 pm to 9 pm at The Social Hub Amsterdam City (Wibautstraat 129). At just 22, Sawyerr has built an international career spanning modelling, creative direction, image-making and conversational journalism, collaborating with artists including Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, A$AP Rockyand André 3000, alongside brands such as Dr. Martens, Adidas, Converse and Calvin Klein. Rooted in Black cultural storytelling, the talk explores the possibilities of building a multidisciplinary creative career. Registration required. 

NAAI, founded by Tijn Roozen, Jinte van den Berg, Joanne Olinga and Lola Noteboom, launches its first collection of ready-to-sew kits from 6 pm to 10 pm at Droog (Staalstraat 7B). Expanding on the participatory fashion concept first introduced during Lichting 2025, the launch is accompanied by The Sewing Circle, an

editorial exhibition celebrating the collective act of making clothes, alongside a documentary offering a behind-the-scenes look at the designers’ creative process.

Friday September 4

The HUB continues its public programme from 12 pm to 7 pm at RIVVIA (Keizersgracht 264, Amsterdam). Visitors can explore the 20 Years of Lichting retrospective exhibition, browse the curated vintage shop, join hands-on workshops, customise or repair garments, donate clothing at the textile collection point and attend Friday’s programme of AFW Talks. Registration opens on amsterdamfashionweek.nl on August 21st.

EDWIN SUPPLY, curated by Freeter, presents Selected Archives from 12 pm to 8 pm at Studio Kōbō (Danzigerbocht 21A). The exhibition transforms the space into a live laboratory where visitors follow the journey from archive to garment, as The Archivist brings new denim to life in real time through an open and transparent working process.

Vrij Paleis Open presents its first Open Runway Show from 6 pm to 8 pm at Paleisstraat 107, with the runway beginning at 7 pm. The presentation brings together six graduating designers from KABK, Gerrit Rietveld Academie, AMFI and ArtEZ Feliz Aaliyah Sanchez, Mina Calori, Zaina Timmermans, Jozefina Wojtkiewicz, Evelina Eliasson and Ugne Kurutyte — showcasing the next generation of Dutch fashion talent.

POLISH YOUR GEAR unveils its debut SS27 ready-to-wear collection from 6 pm to 9 pm at Vanderwilt (Geldersekade 43D). Presented in an intimate showroom setting, the collection explores identity, heritage and freedom through contemporary interpretations of motorcycle culture, pushing the possibilities of latex in ready-to-wear fashion.

The Swap Club hosts its Clothing Swap AFW Edition from 6 pm to 9 pm at The Swap Clubhouse (De Clercqstraat 68). Visitors are invited to bring up to three garments, earn digital Swap Points and discover new fashion finds while enjoying music, drinks and a curated selection of upcycling designers. The event encourages a more circular approach to fashion by giving pre-loved clothing a second life

Saturday September 5 

thriftpark takes over Centrale Markthal (Jan van Galenstraat 6) from 11 am to 6 pm, bringing together a large-scale flea market, curated vintage resellers, independent brands and creative experiences. Visitors can shop pre-loved fashion, discover emerging labels, join creative workshops, and enjoy food, drinks and some of Amsterdam’s favourite matcha spots.

Fleuril presents its GO POINT Pop-Up from 11 am to 6 pm at Herengracht 178. Visitors are invited to exchange a pre-owned garment for a mystery item—including exclusive influencer pieces—and refresh their wardrobe at an interactive repair bar.

Amsterdam Museum celebrates its 100th anniversary with two public talks at ODE Café (Marnixstraat 409). From 1 pm to 2 pm, Fashion & Fauna: erfgoed, taboe of tweede leven? brings together a curator, fashion activist and vintage specialist to explore the role of animal materials in fashion, from cultural heritage to sustainable alternatives. From 4 pm to 5 pm, the programme continues with a conversation on Amsterdam’s streetwear culture featuring Masta Lee, in collaboration with Gowtu. Registration required. 

Annelijn Hartevelt will open its first pop-up event during Amsterdam Fashion week 2026 at Studio Donge (Danzigerkade 63A) showing her womenswear Spring-Summer 26 Alluvial collection. The doors will be open to the public from 1 to 4 PM, inviting you to discover the collection up close and try on your favourite pieces. Visitors are welcome for an afternoon of fashion, discovery, and the first opportunity to experience Annelijn Hartevelt’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection in person. An invite-only drinks reception follows from 4 pm to 7 pm.

EDWIN SUPPLY, curated by Freeter, continues Selected Archives from 11 am to 7 pm at Studio Kōbō (Danzigerbocht 21A). The live installation follows the transformation from archive to garment as The Archivist creates new denim pieces in real time. Limited places are available for the exclusive customisation workshop.

Kente Gentlemen takes over Showroom (Pretoriusstraat 64D) on 5 and 6 September, welcoming visitors from 1 pm to 5 pm. The Ivory Coast-based brand presents and sells its handcrafted collections while inviting guests to meet founder Aristide, discover the craftsmanship behind the pieces and connect over music and drinks.

Vrij Paleis Open presents the Vrij Paleis Open Fashion Exhibition from 12 pm to 8 pm at Paleisstraat 107. The exhibition features collections by Feliz Aaliyah Sanchez, Mina Calori, Zaina Timmermans, Jozefina Wojtkiewicz, Evelina Eliasson and Ugne Kurutyte, giving visitors the opportunity to meet the designers and gain insight into their inspirations, techniques and creative processes. The exhibition continues on Sunday, 6 September, from 12 pm to 7 pm.

Amsterdam Fashion Week, together with tuftuf, concludes the official programme with its Closing Party from 4 pm to 11 pm at Westerkerk (Prinsengracht 279). For one evening, the historic church transforms into a dance floor with an enormous disco ball, signature cocktails and the energetic atmosphere that tuftuf is known for. Tickets available via link.

The celebrations continue with the unofficial Fashion Week Closing at Club RAUM (Humberweg 3) from 10 pm until 6 am, hosted by The Gang Is Beautiful x Grey Men. The night celebrates inclusion, diversity and underground creativity, creating a platform for the voices and communities that continue to shape the future of fashion. Tickets available via link.
