As an extension of the Steve Madden x RVDK show during AFW Edition 2023, an exhibition is set at the Public Library from December 14th to 27th. The imaginative paper garments by RVDK will be displayed alongside a selection of Steve Madden’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection. The exhibition will feature key pieces of the show that took place at Bajeskwartier (the old Bijlmer Bajes prison), featuring prison garb’, sporty ‘gabber’ attire, colourful sixties mini dresses and elaborate couture pieces, all made from paper. A special edit of the show video will be on view during the exhibit.
Ronald van der Kemp is a Dutch sustainability pioneer. With his brand RVDK he has set the tone for the current upcycling movement. RVDK is the first sustainable couture house in the world recognised by the ‘Fédération de la haute couture’. Ronald van der Kemp will talk about his 30+year international career and his mission ‘New Ethics in Luxury Fashion’ on December 18th from 18:30 to 20:00.
