Op de Ring designers release limited edition T-shirts with Levi’s®

To mark Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, Levi’s® joins forces with three of the citys most boundary-pushing designers, Renée van Wijngaarden (1/OFF), Borre Akkersdijk (BYBORRE), and Guillaume Philibert (Filling Pieces), for a limited-edition release of 750 exclusive T-shirts. Each designer has created a personal design, paying homage to the citys spirit of transformation, connection, and creativity.

The Designs
Guillaume Philibert (Filling Pieces)
Perhaps you already know, but my background is in architecture, which largely influences my design signature. This reflects in the graphic, where I incorporated the three crosses, the letters AMS, and the number ‘750’. As a sub-layer, I included the metro lines, as they connect the city and bring together different neighbourhoods, cultures, and people. For example, I still often take the metro to the office—not only because of time efficiency and sustainability but also to stay aware of what people are wearing, doing, etc., as I believe this is very important for a designer.”

Borre Akkersdijk (BYBORRE)
“Together with illustrator Olf de Bruin, I designed a T-shirt that is filled with odes to Amsterdam. Small illustrations, like tattoos, are scattered across the entire shirt—from the iconic XXX to Pride, from Nemo to the bicycle. Amsterdam Pride, 750 years of pride. The inspiration started with a line from Eberhard van der Laan: “take good care of the city and of each other”, and grew through our deep dive into the city archives, where we discovered a wealth of beautiful drawings. From the parks to the peace doves, every detail reflects the layered spirit of Amsterdam.”

Renée van Wijngaarden (1/OFF)
When we started designing this T-shirt, I wanted it to feel like more than a celebration. It had to be a reflection of what Amsterdam stands for: reinvention, resilience, and constant transformation. The concept behind our design, ‘750 & BEYOND’, is our way of honouring the past while actively shaping the future. We worked with repurposed Levis® garments, which is at the heart of what we do. At 1/OFF, every piece is deconstructed and rebuilt using our signature techniques: visible seams, raw edges, layered constructions, all speaking to the idea that nothing is ever finished, only reimagined. The embroidered three Xs nod to the citys legacy, while the deconstructed silhouette reminds us that fashion, like Amsterdam, is always evolving.”

Part of the proceeds from the T-shirt sales will be donated to Stichting SINA (Samen Is Niet Alleen), a charitable organisation based in Amsterdam that supports families living in poverty, regardless of their residency status. They provide essential items such as beds, diapers, and baby supplies, and offer access to sports, cultural activities, and digital skills training for children and parents. By conducting home visits and collaborating with local professionals, SINA aims to reduce stress in vulnerable households and ensure every child has a healthy and hopeful start in life.
