SF/Collective is a pioneering Sustainable Fashion Collective that champions visibility and sales for emerging Fashion Frontrunners committed to a clean and fair fashion industry. Through strategic PR efforts and the innovative Sustainable Fashion Gift Card (SFGC), SF/Collective not only amplifies the presence of these trailblazing brands but also drives conscious consumer behaviour. This year, their involvement with Amsterdam Fashion Week is a testament to their mission, showcasing an array of exciting activations and events designed to inspire and engage the fashion-forward audience.
Starting in September, SF/Collective’s official pop-up will extend its hours, welcoming visitors from Wednesday to Sunday, 12:00 to 18:00. This pop-up is more than just a retail space; it’s a community-driven initiative aimed at promoting sustainable fashion practices. Visitors can not only purchase clothing but also donate items they no longer wear (excluding fast fashion and poorly made garments). These donations are thoughtfully redistributed in partnership with SF/Collective brands. For instance, a donated blazer might be given to NUTT Amsterdam, with the donor receiving a 10% discount on a purchase at NUTT. High-quality items from sustainable brands are donated to BrandMission, with donors receiving a voucher worth around 40% of the resale value.
Moreover, all accepted clothing donations earn the donor a 10% discount on the purchase of the SFGC, which can be used in the pop-up and at any of SF/Collective’s 42 redemption points, including circular fashion brand MARTAN, which will be showcasing its new collection during AFW Edition 2024.
As part of Amsterdam Fashion Week, SF/Collective will feature a customisation station by De Steek. Here they will repair and customise garments, such as turning visible repairs into storytelling elements that highlight the wearer’s relationship with the item. For this station we highly encourage you to bring your old and worn out clothing. Additionally, De Steek will host an
upcycling workshop on the 6th of September in The HUB. Both brands will offer repair and sewing kits for sale during The HUB.
Workshops and events throughout September and beyond are designed to deepen the public’s engagement with sustainable fashion. If you missed the eco-dye workshop with flowers and herbs by el.résidu during The HUB by AFW, there’s another chance to participate on September 27. In October and November, De Naaierij will host repair and customisation workshops, while Ilfa Siebenhaar will guide participants in dyeing garments using waste streams like onion skins.
From November 13 to November 17, Floria Collective offers a free tailoring service on the brand’s suits in the SF/Collective pop-up store in collaboration with MENDED. SF/Collective is also planning a special event in late November focused on clothing rentals, in collaboration with Sophie Stone, Lena Library, and Iconic Wardrobe.
At The HUB, visitors can test their luck with SF/Collective’s grabbing machine in collaboration with Sophie Stone, where they can win prizes including the Sustainable Fashion Gift Card and a memberships worth €99. Three of the gift cards will have a value of €100, with others ranging from €5 to €50. There’s also a goodie bag surprise in store in collaboration with inclusive swimwear brand Via di Gioia.
