Keeping everyone engaged during the first week of September, Amsterdam Fashion Week kicked of a series of events celebrating Dutch designers. Whilst New York, Paris and London are in the midst of fashion week season, we created a list of happenings enriching the local fashion calendar for the upcoming months.
Emerce Fashion
If you want to delve into the business side of fashion and you missed the AFW Industry Talk on how to infiltrate into the fashion industry as a young talent, make sure to visit Emerce Fashion on the 22nd of September. Industry experts of this year have already been announced and include Director of Finance and Operations Patagonia Willem Swager and Head of eCommerce Love Stories Claudia Moron.
Denim Days
On the 21st and 22nd of October, the Denim Days return for a second time this year with its market format in De Hallen Amsterdam. The Market Edition celebrates the denim scene and its community, and allows visitors to participate in workshops, get educated by experts and buy one-of-a-kind pieces of a myriad of Dutch fashion brands. Live denim dyeing alternates with hand painting sessions and patchworking. The festival already confirmed some brands, including Advance Denim, Concrete Matter, Kings of Indigo, and Zipper.
Dutch Design Week
From Saturday 22nd of October till Sunday 30th of October, Dutch Design Week 2022 will capture and display Dutch design talent at a number of locations throughout Eindhoven. The Dutch Design Awards, a highlight of the schedule, dedicate one of their categories to fashion with Studio David Laport, Yamuna Forzani and Antione Peters as its promising nominees. Fashion Tech Farm will also host a large variety of projects, including ‘Laced’, a 3D printed wedding dress by Krizia Medero, and ‘Haptic Fashion’, a mini collection of garments that are defined by haptic aesthetics. Sectie- C makes room for a selection of works including ‘Capable Hands!’, a handbag series inspired by human hands and a series of Amo earrings by KKEKK.
FASHIONCLASH Festival
The 14th edition of FASHIONCLASH will be held from the 25th till the 27th of November. The annual festival in Maastricht selects a number of young designers to present their work through exhibitions, performances, and fashion film screenings. This year’s edition will also include an Open Mic Night, where designers and the audience can interact, and the manifestations of talent programs such as The Clash House and The Hooooooodie Project.
