Open to public: OSCAM presents Materialising Memories during AFW26

During Amsterdam Fashion Week 2026, OSCAM opens its new location at Bijlmerplein 97 with Materialising Memories, a fashion exhibition by London-based visual artist, designer and founder of TSAU Studio, Bevan Agyemang. Bringing together fashion, storytelling and textile, the exhibition explores how identity is shaped by memory, heritage and the connections we build with one another.

At the heart of Materialising Memories is a collaborative process that began with OSCAM’s community workshops, where participants shared objects carrying personal meaning and the stories connected to them. These memories became the foundation for a woven collection, transforming personal histories and shared experiences into garments and textile works.

The exhibition presents a ten-piece capsule collection, including seven interchangeable core garments designed to be worn in 24 different ways. Combining artisanal textile techniques with archival imagery, personal photographs and objects contributed by OSCAM’s community, Agyemang’s work highlights clothing as more than something we wear. It becomes a carrier of stories, culture and connection.

The opening of Materialising Memories marks the official launch of OSCAM’s new space and takes place during AFW26 on Thursday 3 September. Visitors can expect a multidisciplinary programme featuring a spoken word performance by Gershwin Bonevacia, dance by Adonis and performance art centred around traditions of making, remembering and honouring. The garments and textile works will come to life throughout the performances, creating a dialogue between fashion, movement and memory.

Following the opening, Materialising Memories will be open to the public until Saturday 27 February 2027.
